STA Officiating Course

STA OFFICIATING COURSE

ITF NATIONAL LEVEL OFFICIATING (CHAIR AND LINE UMPIRING) COURSE

STA/ITF National Level Officiating Course is conducted annually to give new officials a general introduction to the rules of tennis, code of conduct, chair & line umpiring.

The details of the course are as follows:

Public: SGD $250.00 (inclusive of GST and 1 set of course materials)

Withdrawal or Deferment

Notice must be made in writing:

- 2 weeks or more before course start date – full refund

- Less than 2 weeks before course start date – 50% refund

- On or after course start date – no refund

Practical Training

Successful course participants must officiate in STA-designated local tournaments within 12 months of course completion before certification as a qualified chair or line umpire is issued. No officiating fees will be paid during this practical training period.

Public:
- 6 chair duties at any tournament as designated by STA to pass.

Volunteers:
- 6 chair duties at any tournament as designated by STA to pass.
- Post-certification, one compulsory five-day commitment performing roving duties at an age-group tournament is required.
- Must be readily available for deployment at an STA-organised age-group tournament, as assigned.

** Passed Applicant will receive direct contact by the Tournament Coordinator to officiating in the STA Local Competitions / International Competitions / National School Games.

** Volunteers will receive a Certificate.
