Begin your journey as a tennis coach
The ITF Play Tennis Course is the perfect first step for anyone looking to begin a career in tennis coaching. Through blended learning and practical on-court sessions, participants will learn how to deliver fun, safe, and effective beginner tennis sessions.
Before You Begin
- Complete online prerequisite modules on the ITF Academy before the course starts.
- No prior certification is required.
- Basic tennis knowledge and understanding will be useful.
What You Will Learn
- How to run fun and effective beginner sessions.
- Coaching skills for children aged 10 & under and adult beginners.
- Basic game situations, tactics, and techniques.
- Learn to organise simple competitions using the right equipment, scoring, and courts.
Assessment
- Written test.
- Tennis ability test.
- Group lesson practical assessment.
- Participants must achieve a score of 67% or more to earn certification.

Group Assessment Re-Test
The Group Test Re-Test is applicable only to participants who did not meet the required competencies for the Group Assessment component of the ITF Play Tennis Course.
